Full Figured Fashion: The Colors of Fall and Winter
It’s time again for our full figured fashion series, now featuring fashions for fall and winter of 2013. Today we’re focusing on the colors of the season, namely bright blue and winter white. These colors lined the runways during NY Fashion Week earlier this year, and are inspiring us to dream of the cool days of fall and a winter wonderland.
The blues never looked so hot with the it color of the cooler months: bold blue! This stunning blue hue will have all your friends doing a double take. And we say, the brighter the better! Try a solid blue ensemble like this flattering panel dress from Scarlett and Jo. The crisscross neckline accentuates all of the right curves, while the asymmetrical pleating creates a lovely silhouette and interesting design.
Also look for color blocking options with blues, such as white and blue or black and blue combos. Color blocking is a trendy way to create body illusions by smoothing your curves into slimming lines. Also look for bold blue tops. High impact details like ruffles are also in style. (More on that later in our fashion series!)
When it comes to blue hues, Leading Lady has you covered from the intimates, out. Our molded padded seamless full figure bras come in blue mist and wedgewood to complete your blue ensembles.
The other color rage in full figured fashion this season is winter white. Many women find this to be one of the hardest colors to wear, but we’re showing you flattering ways to incorporate this trend into your wardrobe.
We’ll be talking all about coat styles later in our fashion series, but when it comes to color, winter white is a terrific choice. You’ll be on-point with your color selection without need for concern about transparent fabrics. Plus, winter white matches just about everything in your wardrobe. That means you don’t need a black, brown and navy coat this season, just one in dazzling winter white.
If you’re excited to try the winter white trend underneath your overcoat, but are hesitating because you fear it is not the most flattering option –think again! An outfit is as flattering as the cut and fit for your body. Be sure to select styles that work best for your shape, whether that means empire waist, a-line or straight cut. Also, adding a texture like this sheer lace dress from Lover creates the illusion of depth and movement without becoming bulky. Textures and layers also conceal problem areas nicely. For winter white tops and dresses, we recommend nude bras with smooth lines.
We can’t wait to see your bright blue and winter white ensembles this season. To help complete your color trend outfits, shop our $12 bra sale now! And stay tuned on our blog, Facebook, Twitter and Google+ for more of our full figured fashion series next week.
