Join Us in our World Breastfeeding Week & National Breastfeeding Month Celebration
Happy and healthy World Breastfeeding Week and National Breastfeeding Month to you! We’re ecstatic to share this special time of year with our favorite people…moms! We’re celebrating in our usual fashion with an annual nursing bra donation. This year we are distributing more than $200,000 in nursing bras to breastfeeding mothers across the country to raise awareness, uplift and encourage new moms on the ultimate journey of nourishing and nurturing healthy babies.
Breastfeeding Support
Along with our national partners – Black Mothers’ Breastfeeding Association (BMBFA), Reaching Our Sisters Everywhere (ROSE), La Leche League and the USDA’s Women, Infant and Children program (WIC) – we are championing moms in every walk of life. Breastfeeding is not just about feeding your baby the healthiest option. It takes motivation, perseverance, knowledge, and time.
For some mothers, breastfeeding is smooth sailing, but most hit a bump or two along the road. Regardless of your race, income, experience or background, breastfeeding requires support. Often that’s in the form of a lactation consultant who shows you the ropes. Other times it’s a veteran mom friend who lends an ear when you need to vent. Perhaps it’s a nod from a fellow nursing mom when you’re breastfeeding on a park bench. And sometimes it’s a comfortable, supportive nursing bra that simplifies breastfeeding under otherwise complicated circumstances.
We’re so proud to be part of the support system for new moms through our annual nursing bra donation program. Every year we receive the most amazing stories from moms who make breastfeeding work for them and their babies, despite impossible odds. And this year will be no different.
We advocate for breastfeeding all year long but during the first week of August – World Breastfeeding Week – and the entire National Breastfeeding Month in August, we are among the leaders on the national and worldwide stage cheering for moms to meet their breastfeeding goals. After all, the health of babies is a global matter.
